Classic Monogram 4x6 Ruby J

Monogram Initials constructed of manipulated ampersands pair with envelope liners reminiscent of vintage foulard patterns. The ampersand was once the 27th letter of the English alphabet. It’s a wonderful shape to contemplate across typefaces, and it seemed a slightly subversive idea to construct the remaining 26 letters of the alphabet from the decommissioned 27th letter. The foulard patterns are taken from photographs of textures in natural forms found in the back yard. These images were then put through mathematical digital filters, manipulated in scale and color to create patterns reminiscent of vintage silk foulards, often used in men’s ties and suit linings, as a nod to a gracious era. The file includes a bonus page of bordered note cards without a monogram.
